Darren Bent is now ready to complete his signing with Tottenham this week after snubbing a move to Liverpool, and a £75,000 a week offer from Alan Curbishley.
Martin Jol is keen that Bent will be joining Spurs this season. Jol is looking for a striker to replace Berbatov if coming off as a substitute or injured. As Martin Jol is uncertain that Robbie Keane and Jermaine Defoe cannot play with each other up-front.
Bents move may also decide on Defoe's future at Spurs. The England international has 2 years left on his contract, and has already been linked with Manchester United, Liverpool, and Chelsea.
