Sneijder's disappointment could be Tottenham's delight

Wesley Sneijder has just like any regular newsreader found out that Valencia are not interested in him anymore since Ajax are asking way too much. The player openly expressed his disappointment in a Dutch interview, he was suggesting that everything is still possible because "it's not 31 August yet". When asked that a player who wants to leave is not any good for any club he responded, "I'm professional and Ajax know my ambitions, if things don't work out then I'll have to be committed to my employee (FC Ajax)."

This will mean unless Sneijder pleas with Ajax to lower the asking price, he won't be going to his dream club. Tottenham who would fancy signing a central midfielder who could play the role of playmaker might see this as an opportunity to place their bid.

It is clear Sneijder wants Champions league football but it is also clear that he believes now is the right time to leave Ajax. The question is will another Champions league club place a bid for him.

His name is mentioned quite alot in many Tottenham forums and Martin Jol is reported to be a keen admirer of the young Dutch international. Martin Jol being armoured with a war chest of £60 million could well go ahead with capturing the two footed midfielder.

Do you think that Wesley Sneijder would consider playing for Tottenham Hotspur?
